Get involved with Sport Relief this year and use your love of swimming to do some good for others!
There are a number of Swimathon events you can join in with up and down the country which you can enter on your own or as a team where you can tackle a range of distances to either swim for fun or challenge yourself.
So take the plunge and enter the Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Games by doing the Swimathon from Friday 21st to 23rd March 2014. It’s the UK’s biggest swimming event and is taking place in hundreds of pools around the country, including the Swimathon at the Aquatics Centre at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
You can choose from 1.5km, 2,5km or 5km distances. Alternatively, you can try the SimplySwim category, which lets you set your distance, be it from Dover to Calais or a few lengths with the family. If you’re more of a team swimmer, you could also form a relay squad to tackle the 1.5km and 5km distances with your water-loving friends and lap up the glory.
And, to really make your swim count, don’t forget to get sponsored. Wherever you finish, you’ll be doing your personal best because the money you raise will be used by Comic Relief to help transform the lives of some of the poorest and most disadvantaged people both here in the UK and around the world. That’s why everyone at these Games gets a medal. So, join the fun and games today at sportrelief.com.
